3 Simple Marketing Tasks Every Small Business Should Do Weekly

Marketing a small business can feel like juggling a hundred different things at once. One day you’re told you need to post on Instagram every day, the next it’s TikTok, and then someone swears email is the only way to grow. It’s exhausting, and it leaves most people feeling stuck before they even start.

But here’s the truth: you don’t need to do everything—you just need to do a few things consistently. Over the past few weeks I’ve been testing this myself, and I’ve realized that three simple weekly marketing tasks can create real momentum without adding hours of work to your plate.

Today I’m sharing those three tasks so you can start building a marketing routine that actually feels manageable and moves the needle.

1. Create Evergreen Content

Let’s start with the first (and maybe the most important) task—creating something evergreen. This is the type of content that doesn’t disappear after 24 hours, but instead keeps working for you week after week.

Instead of spending hours creating three reels that capture attention for a few days at most, evergreen content continues to grow long after you hit publish. Often, the results you get from this type of content will benefit your brand months or even years down the line.

A great example of evergreen content is a weekly blog post. Unlike a reel or TikTok, which fades quickly, a blog can be searched, pinned, and referenced over and over—building a library of resources that keeps attracting new eyes to your business.

This isn’t to say there isn’t a time and place for a trendy, purposefully scheduled reel or TikTok, but don’t let that be where all of your effort goes. Make your content work for you, not the other way around.

2. Use Pinterest to Distribute Your Content

Once you’ve got your evergreen piece of content, the next step is to actually get eyes on it. That’s where Pinterest marketing comes in. Pinterest is different from other social platforms because it’s a search engine, not just a social feed.

With the right content and strategy, it doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out—Pinterest rewards good content. By creating just a couple of fresh pins for each blog post, you can turn one piece of content into multiple opportunities for people to discover your business.

With the right pin design and keywords, every click on your pin is a chance to bring new readers to your blog, grow your visibility, and build brand awareness.

3. Nurture Your Audience With Email

So you have the blog, you’ve created the pins—what’s next? Now it’s about nurturing your audience. A consistent blog with engaged readers gives you the perfect opportunity to grow your brand’s community.

By showing up consistently and providing value, you will find your people (or better yet, they’ll find you). But don’t just let them come and go—invite them to stay connected. The easiest way to do this is through a simple weekly email newsletter.

This newsletter builds trust and keeps people tied to your brand. Within it, you can share your latest blog post, one quick tip, or a product/service update. You don’t need a huge list either—just start with the people who are already reading. Over time, that list becomes one of your strongest marketing assets.

Final Thoughts

Consistency with small, intentional actions is what creates real momentum. There’s no need to juggle ten different strategies when three weekly habits will move the needle: blog, pins, and email. If you’re ready to start building these habits but don’t want to overthink the process, I created a free planner that walks you through the exact steps I use to plan my marketing weeks. You can grab it at the bottom of this post.

And in case you’re wondering if I practice what I preach—you’re here reading this blog because you clicked on one of my pins. That’s the system in action.
